Maureen Kelly offers senior level attention to every step of the book publicity process.

Few have received such a thorough education in publicizing business books.  As a hands-on member of the HarperBusiness publicity team she had the opportunity to work on a long list of business books for six years that were the envy of the publishing world: bestsellers including Built to Last by Jim Collins and Jerry Porras, The Leadership Engine by Noel Tichy, The Dilbert Principle by Scott Adams and authors including Michael Hammer, James Champy, Al Ries, Geoffrey Moore, Lillian Vernon and the late Peter Drucker. 
 
She also worked at a boutique music p.r. firm as the Senior Account Executive for Yamaha Keyboards.  There she learned corporate public relations and gained a familiarity with the music industry, celebrity and religious media.  She sent the Yamaha performing artist and his Yamaha piano on a “book tour” to morning shows around the country!
 
At The Free Press Maureen took charge of publicizing all of their business books and had the opportunity to work on other nonfiction books.  She worked with several prestigious authors, including Michael Porter, Henry Mintzberg, James Galbraith, and the cofounders of TRUSTe, and on bestsellers like John Nesheim’s High Tech Start Up, Rob Jolles’ Customer Centered Selling and Michael Cusumano’s Microsoft Secrets.
 
Maureen’s freelance career began with birth of her first child.  She continued to work for The Free Press and on projects for other major publishers including Random House and Simon & Schuster.  She has also worked on books published by many business book imprints as a subcontractor.  She has been hired by other book publicity firms to pitch in on business book projects, as well as other nonfiction book projects and to work on a few corporate p.r. accounts.  She has had the pleasure of contributing to a wide range of projects, from a bestselling parenting cookbook to a weight loss website to handling some corporate p.r. for a web publicity firm.
 
In 2008, Maureen started working with Sramana Mitra to publicize her Entrepreneur Journeys book series.  These book campaigns largely targeted online media, bloggers, and online reviewers. You can view the results on the Books pages of Sramana Mitra's blog. Maureen also manages Mitra’s weekly webinar series, executes social media outreach and various marketing and p.r. initiatives to build awareness of Sramana Mitra’s work and the One Million By One Million (1M/1M) brand.
